7 Awesome Fun Date Ideas Near Oxford Street

oxford-street-medium

The best date ideas in and around London’s main shopping destination.

At first glance, it doesn’t appear as if there’s too many exciting date locations in Oxford Street.

After all, the street itself is mostly just fashion stores – and you probably shudder at the idea of being dragged around H&M et al. by any woman.

However, if you use your imagination and/or investigate the off-streets, there’s a few decent locations for a date.

Read on for 7 date ideas near Oxford Street.

Christmas Shopping

This is actually a great casual first date idea – and good low pressure way to get to know a bit about each other.

Buying for children? Goof around in the toy shops together. Buying for women? Use your date as an expert personal shopper!

You’ve got to go Christmas shopping at some point anyway – so it might as well be with a beatiful girl by your side.

If you’re strapped for cash, you can make this a fun date without spending any extra money.

Joe & The Juice

My favourite cafe chain. There’s one in Regent Street about a minute’s walk from Oxford Circus. The smoothies are delicious and the noisy chart music creates a party vibe.

St. Giles Casino

This stylish casino sits 30 seconds away from Tottenham Court Road tube. It’s open 24 hours a day and if you’re over 25 you don’t even need membership for entry.

The Social

This cheap and cheerful burger bar is fancy enough for a first date, without being overwhelmingly classy. There’s plenty of live music there if that’s your thing. If you’re fans of urban music, definitely check out the Hip-Hop Karaoke event taking place every Thursday.

Benito’s Hat

This Mexican street food canteen supposedly cooks the best burritos in London. There’s 2 for 1 cocktails from 5-7 every day and all day on Monday – and it’s less than a minute away from Oxford Circus tube.

Wardour Street

Whatever your taste in food, there’ll be a brilliant on this street serving it. My personal favourite is Inamo, the futuristic Asian fusion restaurant.

Selfridges food court

If you’re not keen on a full-on sit-down meal, this is probably the best place to pick up a quick cake or a snack. Prepare to be overwhelmed with delicious choice.
