The Best Of The London Bucket List

My top 5 adventures from the ’30 Adventures Before 30′ London Bucket List challenge revealed.

I challenged myself to complete 30 of the 50 activities in my book The London Bucket List before my 30th birthday.

The challenge was set exactly 30 weeks before my birthday on 1 October – and I smashed it.

You can download an electronic version of The London Bucket List at the bottom of this post – or buy the paperback here.

Here are my favourite five activities from the challenge.

5. Bogan Bingo

Bingo has never been so gloriously boisterous.

This is essentially a drinking game, hosted by two bona-fide bogans from the Outback.

Expect heaps of power ballads, silly rules, swearing, sex jokes and shit prizes.I won a Bogan Bingo-branded waterproof poncho. Handy for the winter months. Top prize was a week in Mile End.

4. The Crystal Maze

This was my favourite TV show when I was a child, and I always dreamed of having a go.

Our team did amazingly well too. Eight crystals, 40 seconds in The Crystal Dome. 124 gold tokens. We beat every other team competing, only to be disqualified for cheating. Scandalous.

This classic show has been recreated with spectacular accuracy. Book now at

3. MCM Comic Con

The brilliance of MCM Comic Con is fully explained in this blog post.

To briefly summarise, it’s wonderful experiencing the effort that the cosplayers/comic book nerds put into their outfits. I also loved getting a ton of stick for dressing as Donald Trump.

The three-day convention returns to the ExCeL Centre on Oct 27-29.

2. SW4

London is the proud home to tons of fantastic music festivals.

SW4 is right up my street though. Based in Clapham Common, it’s the capital’s most popular festival dedicated to dance music.

It’s spread over two days on the August Bank Holiday. We saw Sigma, Tinie Tempah, Wilkinson, Eric Prydz, Pendulum on the Saturday. Pure awesomeness.

1.  Anything where I’m on stage performing

It might seem like a bottlejob to not pick one winner, but all the activities which involved singing/rapping/telling jokes in front of an audience were equally awesome. I love to run my mouth on stage.

Click on any of the images above for videos of each performance.
